Our newest friend has gone?

As many are aware one of Homee Dad and Sidekick Sue's greatest pleasures is watching the wide variety of wildlife we are blessed with on the bay. This time of year we are flooded with Canada Geese, they have their babies, raise them in family units and leave come the fall.
About a week ago while looking at the Canada Geese we were pleasantly surprised to find another goose. Although quite smaller than its friends it was clearing sticking around with them. SKS did some research and checked with a friend who works with the MNR, he advised that this was a immature Snow Goose. Because of the grey on the head, and back it identified it as immature. It seems he probably started the migration south with its family but for some reason could not keep up. So I suppose It planned to leave with the Canada Geese soon.

Problem arrived today as it appears the Canada Geese are gone but our friend is still here. Well for a while.
While I was cutting the grass our friend seemed to be interested in following me around the yard, it was funny watching him as he was watching me. Then it happened - a bright white float plane went over really low, it was clear - our friend looked up, took off, and followed the plane. He has yet to have returned??

Update: it appears the snow goose has returned today with the flock of Canada Geese. So we will keep an eye on them, hopefully another plane does not fly over

Hommee dad has sold himself short on this one. When he says the goose was watching him he hasn't given you the full picture. Hommee dad was on his lawn tractor cutting the grass and the little goose was following hommee and his tractor all over the yard. I think the goose had a thing for the tractor - or maybe hommee (he was wearing a white shirt)... Not sure...was hilariously cute though.

YOu should build him a shelter for the winter if he stays on....Or better yet, you and SKS can share your bed with it.
