Meet the newest member of Homee Dad and Side Kick Sues family, this is AMBER. Born in 1986 into the world of Yamaha 340 Enticer, she was but one of thousands that made their way into the world of human companionship.

After experiencing a few homes Amber has finally found her forever home that she shares with Homee Dad and Sidekick Sue. Much like HD himself she is what one considers vintage and not so pretty, but she works.

Never the less HD and SKS have entered into a new challenge, that of snow machines (I mean sledding) for this is the latest word that describes what you are doing while you carve that trail in the fresh powder opening paths into untouched wilderness, crossing the beds of frozen wastelands giggling with the inner child in search for the next hidden entrance to Narnia.

Of course there are those who would suggest a chariot of such vintage just leads to the ongoing decline of our fresh air, constant roaring of engines that break the silence, while adding to the large already existing hole in the ozone. Thus encouraging the climatic change that ironically would make it impossible for us to enjoy Amber while our temperatures rise and lakes and rivers dry up. "PESSIMISTS"

Homee Dad invites all those who may have opinions to close your eyes but for a second and imagine the doors opening to a world that you can only imagine. Take that step what or where ever it is, into your own Narnia.

Stay real to yourself

WHATS LEFT AFTER THEY ARE GONE?

Homee sits here this morning with a tea in hand and statement on his mind. As I am sure many have noticed Homee cannot be compared to the likes of Ted Dekker or Frank Peretti ( who are they you ask?) just two of my favorite authors who on a regular basis lift Homee to worlds that I can only imagine. In those worlds Homee too is a super hero, a secret agent, or yes if you can believe it even an angel from above battling the foes of this sometimes tormented sphere we lovingly call home! (or was that ET that called home? - confused :) )
SMACK !- wow that hurt but Homee is focused again
The tree is down, the presents are unwrapped and for the most part all the guests have returned to their homes. This I expect is the same for many in our small communities, and we are all attempting to get back to that routine which brought us to last weeks adventures. Yesterday afternoon Homee was sent on a mission by Sidekick Sue ( she was napping so that she would be able to stay up all night and socialize with others dressed like her as they unite to keep our streets safe and secure).
With the list in hand Homee set off with one thing in mind - SKS is sleeping so there is no rush, the weather is great the streets are full - enjoy the encounter with the other like minded people and have fun. First stop WALLY MART, you know the place that everyone verbally shuns because they are the Big Box store that sucks the life out of all the local small mom and pop shops. The huge cooperation that gets all those lower than low priced items from child sweat shops, or dungeons that house the garden gnomes that went missing last year. Youth were blamed for the disappearances of these tiny yet adorable type creatures, taken as a prank or dare. Truth be told they were all taken against their will by Wally Mart greeters who once greeting you at the front door would secretly radio other greeters cruising the streets in unassuming vehicles waiting to hear that the way was clear as you were not home.
Hold on - just pulling myself back again - Reboot
OK while walking the isles of Wally Mart which were full of all those people who spoke of this place as it were actually the work of the devil himself, I overheard a comment that made me wonder if perhaps I had just missed something. Two women greeted each other with the words that are customary this time of year, they hugged and pretended to kiss each other while they blocked the isle so that other shoppers needed to take a detour. When asked how the week went the one replied " well its over now, the mess is cleaned up, the dishes have all been put back for another year, THEY have all left. Thinking that this poor lady was joking as we all do she continued with the comment " I really don't know why we do this, they all come home - cost me a fortune in food and drink, not to mention the presents, then of course the grand kids tromp snow through the house as they run in and out while I clean again. We do this every year and don't learn from the last, I don't believe in either Santa or Jesus so whats the deal......... she went on for I do not know how long but I had heard enough and took the detour humming Christmas Carols while I passed the Grinch.
Its at that time that Homee thought to himself, What would be the memories of those last few days that in fairness may be described as the Fast and the Furious. Grand kids continuing the game of lets beat up grampa, cheering and smiling as they use his belly as a trampoline. Looking at how our kids have become adults and how they deal with their own and remembering when ..... Listening to the sharing and not so sharing as the older kids ventured their way through Thomas the \train and assorted pieces of track. Laughing how when he walked through the door the first thing out of Kadens mouth was " wheres the helicopter grampa". Watching Keana the little princes as she took her first few steps and seeing how her and Dawson would interact - boy will that change when they get older. Last but certainly not the least was spending the time with Susan's parents as they attempted to block out the constant noise.
In closing I must admit that there is some sadness or it may be relieve because I have gone two days without using that phrase BENTLEY NO which was the most commonly used words over the Christmas experience ( I miss it dearly)

THE EVE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Tis the eve before Christmas
And I woke up this morn
its a yearly event
Homee's message was born
The family they made it
The young and the old
A little more white stuff
But its still not so cold
Bentley he has it
The run of Cains house
There's nothing thats safe
Oh look out Christmas mouse
Young Dawson he showed up
A smile with no cares
Whats that over head
Whirly bird in the air
Kaden he grown so
A big boy leads the pack
With the moves, swings and kicks
We had all best step back
But then there is Ireland
She's so sweet, soft as jelly
But then she jumps up
Lands both feet Homees belly
Mekhi runs the toy box
With his cousins he shares
But not Stanley or Thomas
hands off he declares
Oh the smile of Keana
It lights up her face
She's truely a Pricess
Adds a glow to this place
Homee wakes up this morning
The excitment its growing
The trees lights are on
In the dark such a glowing
Tonight I will do it
High into the sky
If I look hard and long
It may just catch my eye
Christmas day its a coming
I will lay in my bed
While visions presents
They dance in my head
I will then hear the noise
So much clang so much clatter
I will jump from my bed
To see what is the matter
On Thomas on Megan
And Bean dont be slow
Go Stepher go Matty
Kellon dont leave Mego
To the top of the roof tops
And dont miss but one
On this day that your busy
Dont forget to have fun
So Homee and Sidekick
have opened their door
the floods they came in
even more than before
So the message from Homee
Be sure that its clear
Merry Christmas to all
And best wishes next year.

The past has returned

As Homee dad turned in last night he could never have imagined what he would wake to in the AM. As he lay there with SKS in her nighty and he in his cap, looking forward to fall to a nice evenings nap. Subconsiouly he was aware of the pitter patter of little feet but alas his mind held him in the sleep mode and he was not able to spring out of his bed to see what was the matter.
While visions of presents, they danced in his head, your Homee laid snuggled all nice in his bed. Then while he awoke, yes he opened his eyes, cleared all the sleepy dust then he could rise. He went far down the hallway, the other side of the house, startled as he noticed returned "CHRISTMAS MOUSE".
There was no dobt, no none not a bit, anymore
the mouse he returned on this day as before
a new look christmas mouse but his message is clear
the same as before always this time of year
smile and be friendly, be thankful and good
cause he's always watching he promised he would
for 24 days he will be here, wont leave
except on that night, you know the one Christmas Eve
Homee Dad wishes all the best of the season

beginning to look like Christmas

Homee Dad awoke this morning and two things immediately came to mind, only 42 sleeps til the fat man comes and with a thin layer of snow "its beginning to look a lot like Christmas". So with that in mind I offer the following:
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
The count down has begun
Sidekicks home today
Homee will find the way
to clean the house and get my chores all done
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
The kids will all be home
presents under tree
most of them for me
Grasshopper again not to have won
So what do we do this year for Christmas
Bentley will arrive
Kaden Ireland too
Mekhi Keanna wooooo
Dawson David after a long drive
What will Santa bring this Christmas
Homee cannot wait
as long there are more
he will not lock the door
bring a gift and you will not be late
So what to do this year for Christmas
Side Kick has a plan
we cannot say it hear
she makes it every year
hard and crunchy coming in a can
Ending now this song for Christmas
many things to do
snowmen on the deck
lights of what the heck
count the presents that are left for me!
That's all I have to say for Christmas

THE RETURN OF HOMEE DAD

Well its been well over a year since Homee Dad has shared his views, thoughts, visions or just comments which have come from those small dark spaces in his grey matter. But I figure if the Jets can return after 15 years and receive a standing ovation for a 5 - 1 loss, then what has homee got to lose. Some will applaud Homee's return while others will either look with destain or just totally ignore, but what the heck - If I Homee Dad can make a difference in but 1 persons life then its is worth the effort.
Now prior to reopening this cavern I did the rational thing that any man would do - I told Side kick Sue of my intention. The immediate question was " why are you doing that - nobody uses the blogs anymore". Of course Homee took this as a sign that this was the thing to do!
After all grasshopper ( AKA THOMAS) has gone for far to long without the input from Homee Dad. He has done very well and Homee Dad is overjoyed with his advancememnts but alas what could he have done with input - the sky as they say is the limit. HD and SKS spent some time ago visiting Grasshopper and the fam. We were thrilled to see there new living quarters and spent some special time with Jr. Grasshopper ( Megan also ).
HD and SKS also went out to the flatlands and visited Kaden, Ireland and their parents, again a wonderful time. There was one instance where Matt attempting to make it look like HD threw SKS off a park toy but it was all done with mirrors (never happened).
I sit here today looking at the clouds, listening to the wind and the sound of the timer going off as SKS is making Halloween Cup Cakes. The sounds of Fall, people raking their yards, boats being bundled for the winter and of course the cheers as the Leafs make another run for the holy grail (this is the year 1967 all over again).
Now I am quite aware that there is a sect in our society who may not appreciate nor believe what Homee brings to the table. To those I would ask " If it were not for toe jam why would we ever have a reason to lick our toes". I know simple question but so profound, this is HD's job - to ask the questions that need to be asked.
Well must sign off for now
Stay safe - be real and when need be fake it.

Megan, Kellon and Mekhi were over a week or so ago, shortly after Mekhi felt the need to show Grampa how he could lay guilt trips by dislocating his elbow at will (that's another story). Apparently he also felt the need to teach Sidekick Sue ( AKA Gramma ) how to build a train set. I am thinking he would have taught HD yet he may have still been gun shy from their last encounter.

It was actually a great visit, looking forward to the fact that the crew is in the area and we can start to see more of the grand kids (and their parents). This educational lesson from Mekhi must have worked as HD and SKS were in the city last weekend to run the Hypothermic 1/2 Marathon. We could not leave the city without a visit to Toys R Us so that we could collect toys at the house.

"Hey great work Gramma now go get me something to eat!, and make it quick or I'll throw my elbow out!"

We introduced Kellon to Deer Sausage, which apparently Mego felt the need to raid the freezer. 3 packs of deer sauage and one pack of egg rolls ( yeh - did you other guys catch that - meg got some of the egg rolls. ) Kellon missed this as he was still struggling with the fact that Homee Dad had a glass of milk at dinner.

It appears that Mekhi has caught on to the fact hat if he just looks cute people may do as he expects. Something to do with pavlo's dogs and I think we are the canine in his world. Cannot wait to see what happens when we add Kaden, Ireland and Ali 3000 to the picture.

Well must run as we are now off to purchase the cupboard door hooks to keep the kids & Mego out of the kitchen. It appears Meg still feels our house is called Safeway!

Til Later - stay real
