Life still great on the Sea

When Homee Dad left you we were preparing for Island night on the Sea. Homee, Sidekick Sue, Mego and Kellon attended the festivities. S.K. Sue felt she needed to make the highlight reel and was dancing on the table with Kamal (the DJ) We partied for the evening and - you guessed it Drank RUM.

Woke up the next day in Barbado's - H. Dad and SK Sue went for a boat ride and snorkled with the sea turtles, also went Sea Kayaking, had an absoloutly great time. Met some friends from Edmonton. Went out to dinner with them in Barbados - drank rum...fun time had by all. Moved into our new room. No more balcony, but great big outside window, just above sea level.
Woke up next day in Grenada. Went off by ourselves on foot to see the fort. Met Glendon, an 11 year old tour guide. He showed us all of the sights, including the hidden tunnels under the fort. Wonderful boy, amazing knowledge of his country! Went to the beach with Kellon and Megan and then went River rafting. Hommee Dad and SK Sue were the only ones brave enough (?) to dive off of the cliffs overlooking the river. (Just make sure you land in the right spot so you don't hit the rocks!) Drank Rum. Returned to ship and saw Kellon off. Wonderful person. Good job Mego. Partied with Megan and her friends, drank rum.
Woke up in Isla Margarita. Went to the beach. Drank Rum. Have been buying bottles of Island Rum. Have quite the collection now. Can't wait to drink all the rum!!!!!
Bean, wish you were here, but somebody has to work. oops, got to go, my rum is ready.

Went on an all day Catamaran tour. Snorkled a barrier reef between the Caribeen Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Pilars of coral reef and lots of fish! Had a wonderful lunch on the Catamaran and drank more Rum. It was bound to happen. Hommee dad met Lois from Etobicoke, She was native to the island and was serving Rum. Hommee dad got to drive the boat. Hommee dad balanced a cup of rum on my head. Hommee dad got to dance around the boat. Hommee dad drank more rum. Sidekick Sue took Hommee dad back to the ship. Sidekick Sue called Megan to see Homme dad at his best. Megan thought it would be neat to phone Thomas. Homme dad apparently spoke to Thomas. He still doubts this conversation took place. But since he can't remember. . . Thursday - Dominica. went downtown. went river rafting in the afternoon. Had an awsome time. Drank rum. Kelon boarded the ship. Homee update - leaving Aruba

Life for Homee and sidekick Sue just does not appear to get any better, we have found a new home. Went to Bonaire yesterday and spent the afternoon land sailing - it was absolutely the coolest. Toured the beautiful town of Bonaire. That night we had our first formal dinner - we were met with another special surprise - it appeared we as family could not attend the formal dinning we were assigned anytime dinner. Well the matradee( spelling ? ) called Mego apparently and advised they cleared a coveted four person table for us for our stay. We are entitled to invte guests as we see fit !!!!

Met the captain last night - wonderful man. Oh - almost forgot - received a Gecko tatoo in Bonaire - on my left calf. Sidekick Sue has pics.

Today we were in Aruba - wonderful. Went on a rather large catamaran and did some snorkling around a sunken ship - Totally cool - loads of critters. Homee dad received a wound today. As we were snorkling, noted a Baracuda coming from the bottom. He had his sights set on an old lady - Homee raced himself in - dove down - placing himself in harms way. Lady saved - Homee Dad received wound to right calf. ( thats the way I remember it ).

By the way it appears we were listed as VIP'S ( the people who's cabin we received must have been somebody) Anyway eveyday fruit is placed into our room, each evening we receive plates of Canapes ( food that looks raw) or Petit Fours ( fancy looking desert). We mentioned it to the appropriate persons and were told it's harder to stop so just enjoy!

Just left the bridge - it appears the captain needed Homee Dads assistance to pull out of port in Aruba. Of course it the least I could do - we were invited up for the sail away - apparently another coveted opportunity. Homee gave the Captain a few pointers !

Well another day is ending, we are totally enjoying this ship - we may stay.
Wishing all well,
Yeh Gryper - managed to figure out the web from the ship. Whenever I find myself in doubt I say " Self - what would Gryper do?"

Homee Dad on the Sea

Homee Dad and sidekick Sue have started our adventure -- AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday we landed in Barbados and were taken to our hotel , it was absolutely incredible. we boarded the SEA and it seemed everyone knew us as they were apparently warned about yours truely? Saturday we went to see the main man - Mego's boss - obviously something was up as he let it slip that we had passenger accomidations - Mego hussed him immediately.

A402 Aloha Deck 402 - Bean do you recall this deck, we were escorted to our room - outside, double with balcony!!!!!! I just about died - apparently there was a cancilation.
We went out with Mego and friends in Barbado's for dinner - excellent great time. Sunday we went out on an all day catamaran ride from St. Vincent - unbelievable. Today we went for a tour to Maracas Falls in Trinidad - outstanding.

Well this is a short note from Homee dad - going to my balcony for a bit! Getting ready for the formal night # 1 - with Mego.

Seems we have adopted many kids - all calling us mom and dad - party last night - kind of slow this morning. Need to go - Rum is getting warm!

TO THE SEA!!!!!

When Homee presses enter he and his faithful sidekick Sue will be off on the adventure of a life time. Snow is falling in this winter wonderland yet 24 hours from now we will be touching down in Barbados where we will spend the day before joining Mego and The SEA.

We are so pumped and for months have been waiting for some kind of obstacle to show itself, but alas the time has come and we must go. I am sure the excitement on the SEA is equal to that of Homee Dad - just think for 21 days Homee dad will be at the helm ( with his trusted side kick - Sue ).

I will make efforts to stay in touch but promise nothing, I am sure the captain will have a complete assignment for Homee Dad - they will all be counting on yours truly to make this an Adventure !!!!

Keyless in Kenora

I am now sure of it - there are invisible people walking the streets of Kenora preying on unsuspecting people such as Homee dad. I am at the point that I alone will join Uncle George's Star wars program just to weed out these creatures. Let me explain

9:30 AM - Homee dad mounts the trusted ford ranger in order to travel to town - Mission, hair cut - must be neat and trim since I will no doubt be the guest of the Captain for 21 Days. So I direct said stead into town, Homee even remembers change for the small machines that eat coins but never seem to give anything in return. What ever happen to the days one could park without cost - " Global warming ".

Anyway Homee parks about 10' from the barber shop. Yes I still go to a barber, can't see any sense in going to a place that smells like perfume, has fancy pictures on the wall, and I pay $35.00 to some guy?? named Charmen. Call me old fashion but .... ( hold on just shoving my inside voice back before I get in trouble)

So I exit the truck, walk 10' to the barber shop, do the deed - takes about 10 minutes, walk back outside - use the automatic door opener to open truck - thus my dilemma begins - where did the damn key go! I have a chain with 15 keys but one! I search all over and after some time call Sue who is working and needs to save me AGAIN ! ( I may as well say it because she would if I didn't. Something about locking the keys in the truck ?

Homee says - no problem life is good - in 4 sleeps I will be piloting THE SEA around the oceans of the Caribbean. I will just go get another key cut.

Walk into key shop - ask the nice man to cut another key - nice man politely refuses as apparently the key has some chip inside that means it is smarter than the one presenting it to be cut. He acts as if I should have been well aware of that fact. " I can only cut a key if presented with a matching and corresponding set, which you apparently do not have" of course Homee needs to reply and does " IF I HAD A MATCHING AND CORRESPONDING SET I WOULD NOT BE HERE!!!" Inside voice felt the urge to add STUPID at the end but I was strong.

After some blank stares the mans instructs I will need to go to the Ford Dealer to get another key. As I am walking out he states with a smirk of course " the key will probably be about $45.o0 before programing". The door shuts !

Homee drives over to the nice Ford dealership, has a key cut and then is told that he needs now to go to the service dept. to get programed. I wonder to myself is that the key or yours truly, cause Homee sure wasn't on the same page.

So the girls at the service dept. ask for the key I had cut, the key I did not "misplace", both FOBS??, the truck --- and 1 hour? Homee was lost on the word FOB, not wanting to admit I had no clue at all I said we don't have any fobs. The girl at the desk turns to the other and says - Isn't this SUE CAINS truck, the second nods affirmative and they both say in unison - we are sure Sue has FOB. I think to myself I would know if Sue had FOB, she would not hide that from Homee, we would have got her shots, or medicine or something.

Homee must have still had that cute but stunned look on his face because girl # 2 then holds up something which closely resembles our automatic door unlockers. Homee dad may be somewhat simple at times but catches on. To late to try and catch myself, I admit to being a total fool at which girl # 1 says - that's alright - its Sue's truck we usually deal with her.

So not having both FOBS with me at present I agree to return tomorrow with the working key, the cut key, the truck, and both FOB's. I will leave said items with the nice Ford people - walk up to Tims for my $1.54 xlarge steep tea (double milk) and wait. If anyone asks - I will tell turn to them, take a sip of my tea, and sounding quite intelligent say " I'm just getting my FOBS reprogrammed)

Happy New Year !!

Happy New Year from Homee dad!!
Its at this time that we are called to reflect, on the past - the present and future. After all today is more than just new years, for instance in Scotland today is Handsel Monday, let us not forget this was infact the day that B. Kliban was born in 1935.
Homee Dad sat down this morning with a fresh look at life and blogging, it is then that he noted the question he asked about the new blogs was literally staring him in the face. OK good thing Homee is cute.
So while I contemplated my message for the new year one thing came to mind - PRESENTS!!!!!
Alright perhaps its more than the presents? It may be about hope for the future. When Homee considers the struggles of life he often thinks of Forest ( picture above). Many are aware of Forest's stuggles from day to day, he saw the light at birth but came back to our world. Forest definately has his challanges as he has been adampting to for 7 years, not bad since we were lead to believe he would not see his first.
Homee Dad's message is simple - stay real, play hard, just do it. When life knocks you down sneak up from behind and choke it out!
GO LEAFS GO!!!
