ARE WE THERE YET?

SO THE QUESTION STANDS " ARE WE THERE YET?"

AS I REVIEW SOME OF MY SUMMER PICS I AM DRAWN TO THIS ONE, THESE FINE CANADA GEESE ARE DEFINITELY ON THERE WAY. I AM SURE THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF WHERE THEY ARE HEADING ALL BE IT THEY MAY NOT BE AWARE WHAT AWAITS THEM.

IS THIS NOT TRUE OF ALL OF US?

DON'T WORRY HOMEE HAS NO INTENTION OF DRIFTING OFF INTO THE WORLD OF DEEP THINKING! GOD KNOWS I WOULD BE LOST AND NEVER RETURN. AS STATED MANY TIMES BEFORE "I'M JUST A SIMPLE MAN"

I OFTEN PONDER THE QUESTION - IF WE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE WE WERE GOING HOW WOULD WE KNOW WE SHOULD STOP
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?
IF THERE WASN'T A TIMER ON THE TOASTER JUST HOW BLACK WOULD THE TOAST GET?
WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THE SHAVINGS FROM CARROTS AFTER AFTER THEY LAITH THEM DOWN TO THOSE CUTE LITTLE MINI CARROTS IN A ZIP LOCK BAG?
WHY IS BARNEY PURPLE?

HOMEE RECALLS GOING TO SCHOOL ONE DAY HE WAS MADE AWARE OF A RATHER ASTOUNDING CONCLUSION. AS WAS THE NORM HOMEE WOULD PACK UP HIS BOOKS, PLACE HIS BOOTS ON AND WALK TO CORVETTE PUBLIC SCHOOL. EVEN AT THESE EARLY YEARS HOMEE RECALLS MAKING THIS TREK SOLO, IT SEEMED LIKE TODAY HE MAY HAVE SEEN THE WORLD SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS. WELL ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY I RECALL ALMOST BEING AT SCHOOL WHEN I CAME TO THE REALIZATION THAT MY BOOTS WERE ON THE WRONG FEET. ITS NOT THAT I WAS A GENIUS OR ANYTHING, IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH HEARING THE WORDS
"DAVID DID YOUR MOMMY NOT DRESS YOU TODAY - LOOK AT YOU FEET"

CRUSHED BY THIS OBSERVATION I INSTANTLY GOT TO THINKING, IS THAT WHY SQUIRES, CHIPMUNKS, MICE AND SUCH DON'T WEAR SHOES. WOULD THEY BE ABLE TO CLIMB TREES IF THEY HAD THEM ON THE WRONG FEET. WHAT IF A BIRDS WINGS WERE ON THE WRONG SIDE - WOULD THEY FLY IN CIRCLES?

HOMEE CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW THESE QUESTIONS COME, HE IS ONLY AWARE OF THE FACT THAT SOMEONE NEEDS TO ASK THEM.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING - DO YOU REALLY KNOW?
LOOK DOWN AND CHECK YOUR FEET - YOU MAY BE SURPRISED.

STAY ON THE PATH
IF NOT ENJOY YOUR TRIP ANYWAY

the sun has set on another adventure

Homee Dad and SKS have returned again to the frozen tundra known as home. As the saying goes "all good things must come to an end" Who is it that made that absolutely STUPID comment. Have they ever scraped the bottom of the peanut butter jar, or emptied that last linguring drop of rum, or of all things returned to -30 degree's while leaving 28 above?

Well this is when all good campers just suck it up and get back to the reality of life. As we sit here this evening discussing our trip we now realise just why we are so tired. 11 days at sea, 2 people, many friends, and of course an undetermined quantity of rum. What you ask did HD and SKS do to entertain themself?

Here we go - climbed a volcano- once on top had to push it and go where the guide told us not to (not my fault I was a victim), kayaked over pearl blue waters, zip lined a course of 11 zips after we road a gondola to the top of Mount Krumpit, snorkled a total of four locations (chased some puffers, squid and octopus), danced every night until we passed out ( perhaps a combination of tired and rum?), sailed a tall ship for 7 hours, on which we danced, snorkeled, swung off into the ocean numerous times, climbed onto the front for a photo shoot, layed on our back on the deck while catching free falling tequila in my mouth (Homee Dad), flashed the locals while riding a colourful part bus shaking maraka's (again I was a victim), climbed a rock wall (SKS winner of a gold medal), walked numerous miles of roads and sidewalks while taking in the local culture, food and rum, played shuffle board on deck of ship, participated in numerous ship evening
activies, juggled on stage infront of a room full of drinking an drunk passengers. Did I mention we drank Rum? All of this while enjoying the company of some wonderful new friends all of whom we would love to travel with in the future.

I am absolutely sure I have missed something but as I said at the start we need to rest. Many have used the phrase a picture tells a thousand words, well if thats the case this video not only sums up our entire adventure but in my opinion demonstrates what life is all about.

Getting old is manditory - growing up is not
Enjoy life my friends - when in doubt just laugh

homeward bound

Homee and SKS visited our last island yesturday - ARUBA, its still one of our faves. We went out on a tall ship with our group of friends, snorkled, swing from the rope into the deep blue sea, and you guessed it - drank rum. Did not leave Aruba till 10:00 PM so had time to walk the streets, eat dinner at a ocean view rest. and of course drink rum. Not sure what happened after that, SKS is teh best!!!!

Will be at sea all day, good thing - Homee needs to dry off (or out).

So best to all
talk at you when we return
another amazing adventure coming to an end

Sun, Rum and FUN

Homee dad from the Empress, we are just pulling away from St.Lucia, what an amazing island, we went for a ride up a mountain on the gondula and then zip lining, it was a blast. Yesterday in St. Kitts we were kyaking and snorkling with the fishies. SKS has amazing video of 2 puffers we were following. And of course there was the climb up the volcano in ( cant remember where we were its all a blurr) The climb was intense but definately worth all the work.

Need to rum - I mean run
