The Storm
The sky was clear, bluer than blue. Homee Dad had just returned from work - he had it all set in his mind. He would take the Kayak racks off the car as there was no need to take the kayaks anywhere for the rest of the season. He an Sidekick Sue would continue with their exploration of the Winnipeg River. SKS had spoke of a day trip up to Minaki.
Company was expected and all was good. As HD was reaching up to remove the rack he heard the oh so familiar humm of tires on the roadway up at the junction. The humming slowed as it was obvious they chose Olson not Olford.
As he stepped off the sideboard his foot struck the ground scaring up a small grasshopper that had realised his resting place had just been disturbed. Homee Dad's resting place was also to be disturbed. Unlike this unsuspecting grasshopper this disturbance was invited. Yes Granada's favorite son had arrived! The afternoon would take on a whole new direction.
It was clear that Mekhi was wanting to check out the water, he played, splashed and ignored his mother as any good child may do. After all I was at a visit - who would punish me in front of grampa. If it was looking bad I would just pretend I was interested in grama's Kayak or perhaps pose for a shot that grampa could send to Pampers for their next box.
Well grama got home and we were all in the house for dinner, Mekhi had some issues to settle with Clover. (must remember always look cute). Taught grampa a new game called "AHHHH", kind of loud but he caught on real quick.
And then of course the age old grampa game that all kids recall, grama took the pics and again I was the star. Funny how it seems to always be about me! will life always be like this?
A great time was had by all, but after a while rest was needed.
It appears Mekhi is full of energy and mischief which no doubt has come from Kellon's side of the family. It would be great to view some of his pics from his youth!
Anyway great visit - good time!
